PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OFDM communication apparatus that prevents improper compensation of a transmission path so as to prevent the reception characteristic from being greatly deteriorated. SOLUTION: A transmission section of the OFDM communication apparatus is provided with a quality discrimination information attachment section for attaching quality discrimination information to information to be transmitted, a reception section is provided with: a transmission path estimate section; a transmission path compensation section using a transmission path estimate value to compensate transmission path distortion of a received signal; an error correction section for performing error correction processing on the signal whose transmission path distortion is corrected; an error detection section for detecting an error of the signal subjected to error correction processing and outputting an error detection signal denoting the presence / absence of the error; and a re-encoding section for performing re-encoding processing on the signal subjected to error correction processing. The transmission path estimate section obtains a transmission path estimate value on the basis of a pilot symbol and estimates the transmission path on the basis of the re-encoded signal and replaces the transmission path estimate value on the basis of the re-encoded signal corresponding to the error detection signal with the transmission path estimate value based on the pilot symbol and outputs it when the error detection signal indicates no error.
