PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mounting structure for a gasket, and a method for mounting that, in which the gasket is integrated with a seal part to omit work of mounting a separate type gasket, avoid mounting defective, dispense with adhesive or release paper, eliminate disadvantages of using these, and achieve favorable workability and secure seal performance. SOLUTION: A proper number of recesses are provided along a gasket installation part of the seal part. The recess has a vertical cross sectional form of a constant inner diameter part from an opening, a step part, an opening of a smaller diameter than the constant inner diameter part, and a closed hole having an inclined inner surface inclined to be tapered from the opening to form a continuous cross section roughly in an overturned trapezoidal form. The gasket is formed by moulding work along the gasket installation part of the seal part. Locking protrusions formed on the gasket are engaged into the recesses to prevent it from coming off as it is integrally formed with the seal part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
