PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording/reproducing device capable of surely reproducing information such as an address pre-recorded on a recording medium, and to provide an information reproducing method. SOLUTION: When an address is reproduced from a recording medium in which a recording medium address indicating recording positions on the recording medium are modulated by at least two different systems to be multiplexed and recorded, first, demodulation corresponding to the modulation is executed for a signal read from the recording medium to obtain an address data signal for each demodulation. Subsequently, error correction is executed for each address data signal to obtain a corrected address data signal corresponding to each address data signal. Then, a corrected address data signal corresponding to the address data signal of a lowest error rate among the address data signals is output as a reproduced address. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
