PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a container for taking out a sheet material, from which the sheet material can be taken out smoothly and which effectively prevents an emission of a bad smell, such as a smell of styrene. SOLUTION: The sheet material 1 folded zigzag in the container 11 is taken out from it in the direction almost perpendicular to the surface of the folded sheet material 1. A guide member 14 for guiding the front/back surfaces of the sheet material 1 is provided on a taking-out face of the container 11 in such a way that the guide member 14 can be slid almost in parallel with the surface of the folded sheet material 1. The sheet material 1 is folded zigzag so that a maximum amount of the sheet material that can be housed efficiently within the capacity of the container 11 is housed in the container, from which the vertically arranged sheet material 1 can be taken out smoothly.
