PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which can prepare a water-base coating giving a coating film having a film performance such as low temperature curability, water resistance, and chipping resistance in a three wet coating system based on integral coating with a plastic member and form a multi-layer coating film excellent in appearance. SOLUTION: In the three low temperature curing type three wet coating systems, the first water base coating used for forming the first base coating film contains an acrylic emulsion resin, a compound having an oxazoline group, a dispersant pigment-dispersed paste and a thickner, and the total amount of volatile basic substances in a unit area 1 mm<SP>2</SP>of the multi-layer coating film before being heated/cured is 7×10<SP>-6</SP>mmol or below.
