The hollow tubular seal, made from an inner core of knitted metal, e.g. stainless steel, fibres, and an outer envelope (16) of braided glass fibres, is fitted with a series of spring clips (20') to engage with holes round the oven door. The two ends of the seal are joined together by pinching one end and fastening it with a wire (19) to make a male connector (10a) which can then be inserted into the other open female end (10b) to make a joint that is held together when the clips (20') are fastened. |
