<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining the number of iterations of repeating sequences included in a nucleic acid. <P>SOLUTION: The method for determining the number of iterations for the target nucleic acid, a method for determining the number of iterations for the target nucleic acid including a target sequence x1-(y)<SB>n</SB>-x2, comprises (1) extending the nucleic acid under the conditions of properly affording extension reaction using a primer X1-(Y)<SB>m</SB>-X2( wherein, m is an integer of ≥1, being equal to the number of iterations n predicted in advance ) including a repeating sequence comprising a sequence X1 complementary to a sequence x1 and a sequence Y complementary to a fundamental unit y in any number of iterations m and a sequence X2 complementary to a sequence x2 and (2) judging the presence/absence of the extension in the reaction product. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
