<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transflective liquid crystal display capable of enhancing reflection efficiency by forming a reflecting electrode on the upper portion of a translucent electrode. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display in which each pixel region is defined by a reflective region and a transmitting region is characterized by including a plurality of gate wires and data wires crisscross arranged to define pixel regions, thin film transistors formed on the crosses of the gate wires and the data wires, a storage lower electrode comprising part of the gate wires, a storage upper electrode formed on the storage lower electrode by way of a gate insulating film, a transmitting electrode formed in the pixel region in such a way that it is directly connected to at least one of the drain electrode of each thin film transistor and the storage upper electrode, and a reflecting electrode formed in the reflective region in such a way that part of the transmitting electrode is exposed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
