<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To separate two separated type optical fiber ribbons 5 into two optical fibers ribbons 9, respectively, in addition to separation of a single optical fiber ribbon 3 into the fiber ribbons 5. <P>SOLUTION: A separation tool for an optical fiber ribbon is configured switchable to a first adjusting state for cutting by a separation blade 35 a center portion of a coated layer 7 in an optical fiber ribbon 3 supported by a first supporting groove 31 by closing a pair of tool bases 25, 27, and to a second adjusting state for cutting by the separation blade 35 a center portion of the coated layer 7 and a coated layer 11 of a 1/2 optical fiber ribbon 3h supported by a second supporting groove 33 by closing the pair of the tool bases 25, 27. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
