PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a plurality of (multi) driving forces from one motor using permanent magnets and electromagnets. SOLUTION: A linear pulse motor comprises a plurality of permanent magnets provided at least on one side with a series of gears, a lead rail made of a nonmagnetic material which supports the permanent magnets so that the permanent magnets can be freely slid, a plurality of electromagnets substantially identical in lengths with the permanent magnets, and at least one gear wheel for taking out a driving force engaged with the gears in an arbitrary position. The lead rail is formed as an endless belt in an arbitrary shape. The plurality of the permanent magnets are placed on the lead rail with a sliding member between so that the permanent magnets are in the endless belt shapes and can be freely slid. The plurality of the electromagnets are placed on both sides of the permanent magnets in the endless belt shapes. The electromagnets are shifted from the permanent magnets by approximately 1/2 in the lengthwise direction. Rows of the electromagnets on both sides are alternately excited to make the permanent magnets placed in the endless belt shapes run along the lead rail. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
