MEASUREMENT CELL FOR COLORIMETER OR THE LIKE AND METHOD OF USING THE SAME

It is intended to provide a measurement cell for a colorimeter or the like in which a specimen (30) can be easily mixed with a reaction reagent (20) without resort to the procedure of transferring the resultant liquid mixture (34). A measurement cell container (10) having an opening at the top is vertically divided into (2) chambers (14) and (16) with a partition board (12) and the chambers (14) and (16) are connected to each other at the bottom so that the liquid mixture (34) comprising the specimen (30) and the reaction reagent (20) can freely move therein. The opening can be opened or tightly closed with a cap (18). The reaction reagent (20) is preliminarily supplied into the measurement cell container (10). A capillary (32) having the specimen (30) collected thereby is inserted into one chamber (14), while the other chamber (16) is loaded on a colorimeter or the like and irradiated with light, i.e., serving as a measurement point (22). After tightening the cap (18), the measurement cell is well shaken to thereby thoroughly mix the specimen (30) with the reaction reagent (20). The capillary (32) never hinders the measurement.
