A composite material of improved preparation method and increased workability consisting of a reinforcement and a matrix obtained from a matrix forming component, both components in isotactic polypropylene, with beta-nucleated polypropylene as matrix component is new. An Independent claim is included for preparation of a consolidated composite material by melt impregnation of reinforcing fibers from isotactic polypropylene, where a melt of beta-nucleated isotactic polypropylene is used in the matrix.
