<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a variable shape mirror wherein the distortion of a mirror plane in the vicinity of the supporting part of a mirror section is reduced, and the deformation efficiency of the mirror section is improved when deforming the mirror plane shape of the mirror section, and also to provide a method for manufacturing the same and an optical information input/output device provided with an optical pickup device having the variable shape mirror. <P>SOLUTION: The mirror section includes: a deformable part having a piezoelectric element 2 arranged; a fixing part 14 fixed on a member for fixing a mirror; and a supporting part 16 for fixing the deformable part arranged between the deformable part and the fixing part 14 to the fixing part 14.
