PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk which can increase the quantity of return light from a multilevel recording layer in an optical disk of a multilayer structure having two or more recording layers capable of recording and reproducing information.

SOLUTION: An optical disk of the multiple layer structure equipped with a first recording layer 12 having the functions of optical reflection and transmission, and a second recording layer 15 having only an optical reflection function, is provided with a transparent dielectric layer 13 disposed adjacent to the first recording layer 12 and imparting a multiplex interference effect against an irradiating light beam.
