PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a push-down type key switch provided on equipment to have a plurality of functions for depression of one key switch. SOLUTION: A fingerprint recognition sensor 1 is mounted on the surface of and when the key switch is pressed, the fingerprint pattern of the finger pressing down the key switch is obtained. A fingerprint pattern storage device 2, a fingerprint collation processor 3, and a function storage device 4, are mounted to the key switch or the equipment with it. The fingerprint collation processor 3 retrieves and specifies the obtained fingerprint pattern from different kinds of fingerprint patterns previously stored in the fingerprint pattern storage device 2 and the equipment executes functions corresponding to the respective fingerprint patterns previously stored in the function storage device 4. The finger pressing down the key switch is changed or the place of the finger pressing down the key is changed to make the equipment operate to execute different functions. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
