PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophoretic display element in which two or more of display elements can be arranged easily and regularly. SOLUTION: The display element for electrophoretic display comprises encapsulated electrophoretic particles and a dispersion medium and the display element is made like threads containing hollow fibers. The method for manufacturing the electrophoretic display apparatus is carried out by encapsulating the electrophoretic display liquid containing electrophoretic particles and a dispersion medium in thread-like display elements and then arranging the elements between electrodes.
