PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for evaluating and treating impediment to fat metabolism concerning to occurrence of abnormality of G<SB>s</SB>αgene. SOLUTION: The method is applied to evaluate whether a testee has proceeding impediment or risk therefor in fat metabolism. The method comprises preparing a sample from the testee and evaluating G<SB>s</SB>αmanifesting level in the sample. If the G<SB>s</SB>αmanifesting level in the sample is different from that of a normal testee, the subject testee is in proceeding impediment or has risk therefor. A method for determining a composition for treating the impediment to fat metabolism, a method and a composition for treating the impediment are also provided. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
