An inflator reduced in size and having a rupture disk with an increased rupturing performance, wherein the rupture disk (29) is fixed between a gas inlet chamber (22) and an igniter storage chamber (26) and the center axes of an igniter (24) and the rupture disk (29) are aligned with each other, whereby the rupturing performance of the rupture disk can be increased when the inflator is operated.
