The vibration damper for a crankshaft (15, 17) comprises a hub (1), on which an inertial mass (2) is mounted on peripheral bearings (3). The damper has a natural frequency which varies with the speed of rotation of the shaft. This is not equal to the product of the order of excitational vibration and the speed of rotation of the shaft.
