<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antitheft device for automobile that surely protects an automobile from being stolen, and capable of starting an engine when a controller does not work normally. <P>SOLUTION: In a control circuit 13, a radio reception unit 22 conducts a second switch 12 when receiving a lock signal. When a first starter switch 3 is closed fraudulently or is destroyed in this state, it becomes possible to feed electric power to the downstream side of the first starter switch 3. However, when carrying an electric current to an open coil 16 at this time, a first switch 15 opens, and therefore the electric power is not applied to an engine starter 5. Accordingly, an automobile can be surely prevented from being stolen. Meanwhile, when a control circuit 13 stops operating normally, the second switch 12 becomes in not-energized state, and therefore when the first starter switch 3 is closed, the electric current stops being carried to the open coil 16.
