<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display inspection method and a display inspection device for a display panel for reliably detecting a short circuit between row electrodes. <P>SOLUTION: Display cells in a display area are caused to emit light in a zigzag lattice pattern to detect the display cells in the display area by an image sensor 2, and based on its output video signals, dark lines are detected in the row direction.
