<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate the occurrence and the developing state of local corrosion by measuring changes in the water quality of very small internal water simulating local corrosion of a metal member of a water system plant through the use of a microelectrode. <P>SOLUTION: An artificial pit 151 is provided with a simulating structure of local corrosion in the metal member of the water system plant. By measuring the water quality changes in the internal water X in the artificial pit 151 through the use of the micro electrode M<SB>1</SB>, the occurrence or developing state of the local corrosion in the metal member is evaluated. On the basis of the measurement result, the occurrence or the progress of the local corrosion which has occurred in the metal member is suppressed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
