<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high quality reflection type liquid crystal display in which the contrast ratio is increased while improving decrease in the effective reflective area by a black matrix. <P>SOLUTION: In the reflection type liquid crystal display, the structure of data lines is modified. In a reflection type liquid crystal display requiring high luminance, a black matrix is generally used to increase the bright-to-dark ratio. However, the black matrix causes decrease in the reflecting region for the reflected light to decrease the luminance. By the present invention, the data wiring pattern is improved to decrease or eliminate the area of the above black material while keeping the contrast ratio. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
