PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a horizontal numeric keypad type electronic lock system using an electromagnet that is miniaturized while securing a sufficient distance over which a bolt moves, minimizing power consumption, and hardly seen by others how a user operates a numeric keypad. SOLUTION: The horizontal numeric keypad type electronic lock system comprises a plunger attracted or repelled by an electromagnet while being latched by a permanent magnet and biased by a spring in the direction of the bolt; the bolt biased by the spring in the direction of the plunger; a receiving part biased by the spring in the direction of the bolt; a radio receiver for receiving an unlock signal; a power control part for turning the power supply of the radio receiver on only for a predetermined period of time when a predetermined actuation start signal is inputted; a button for inputting the actuation start signal; a lock control part for moving the bolt according to an input from the radio receiver; and an input device having a plurality of keys on the side face or bottom face thereof.
