PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a raw powder superior in shape retainability and sinterability for manufacturing press sintered parts having low thermal-expansion characteristics. SOLUTION: The raw powder in the press sintered parts having low thermal-expansion characteristics comprises a powder including at least one rare earth element of 0.3-5.0 element%, Ni of 34-50 element%, and the balance Fe with unavoidable impurities, and a Fe-based powder with irregular shapes having a ferrite phase in a mixed amount of 50 mass% or less. The process for manufacturing the raw powder for the press sintered parts having low thermal-expansion characteristics comprises manufacturing a powder including at least one rare earth element of 0.3-5.0 element%, Ni of 34-50 element%, and the balance Fe and other elements in total of 5 element% or less, with an atomization method using a gas including a nitrogen gas of 5 vol.% or more, and mixing the Fe-base powder with irregular shapes having a ferrite phase in a mixed amount of 50 mass% or less.
