PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amorphous inorganic fiber formed body free from the degradation even under heat load and having excellent fire resistance only by carrying out a simple treatment in a construction site without necessitating an exclusive production facility. SOLUTION: The amorphous inorganic fiber formed body is constituted so that only the surface layer of the formed body obtained by forming an amorphous inorganic fiber into board-like or felt-like shape is crystallized and a crystallization accelerating agent such as blast furnace slag fine powder, FeO, MgO, FeCO3or MgCO3is stuck to the surface, and the method comprises sticking the crystallization accelerating agent when using.
