PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a zinc base alloy having excellent casting ability and surely giving desired strength, hardness and heat-resistance on the surface layer part. SOLUTION: After dipping out molten metal 22 composed of the zinc or the zinc alloy with a ladle 27, an inoculum 28 is supplied in a prescribed amount into the molten metal 22 in the ladle 27 from an inoculum adding mechanism 30. This inoculum 28 contains copper and manganese, and a molten metal dig-out mechanism 26 starts the pouring of the molten metal into a molten metal pouring hole 34 in a mold 32 during 10-30 sec after adding the inoculum 28.
