A flexible sleeve (5) for an air spring terminates in end portions (25, 26) which define a pair of open ends. The sleeve (5) has inner and outer layers (13, 14) of a flexible material with a plurality of reinforcement elements (21, 22) disposed within the materials with the reinforcement elements extending throughout the end portions. Inner and outer layers of the end portions (25, 26) are joined to the inner and outer layers (13, 14) of the sleeve, by non-overlapping joints (27, 28) with the inner and outer layers of the end portions (25, 26) having a higher modulus of elasticity than the inner and outer layers (13, 14) of the sleeve. |
