The surgical clamp operating system (2) has a fixed (6) and a movable (8) scissors-type handgrip. The movable handgrip is connected to the first end of a sinusoidal spring (12). The second end of the spring is connected to the proximal end of a clamp shaft (4) with an operating rod (14) inside a releasable tube (16). The knob (18) at the proximal end is connected to springs (60) and may be used to push the proximal end of the clamp out of its housing.
