A small-sized hinge device having a small clearance between a turnable shaft and a cover member with the turnable shaft having a small rotation radius; and an opening/closing type communication terminal having such hinge device. It comprises a first turnable shaft (125) which is hollow, a second turnable shaft (126) turnably crossing the first turnable shaft (125), a guide shaft (128) installed in the first turnable shaft (125) so that, at a predetermined position, it guides a cam (132) mounted on the second turnable shaft (126), a first box member integrally mounted on the first turnable shaft (125), a second box member integrally mounted on the first turnable shaft, and a front cover (141) and a rear cover (142) for covering the first and second turnable shafts (125, 126), the front and rear covers (141, 142) being fixed to the first tunable shaft (125) by set screws (143).
