METHOD OF MANUFACTURING VARIOUS ELEMENT-FILLING ZIRCONIUM SODIUM PHOSPHATE CERAMIC

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a method of manufacturing a various element-filling zirconium sodium phosphate ceramic having excellent homogeneity with a small quantity of a by-product.

SOLUTION: A gelated sample containing a compound of elements constituting the skeleton of zirconium sodium phosphate and a compound of elements to be filled is prepared. The gelated sample is dried at 80-130°C for a prescribed time to remove water. The dried sample is further dried at a high temperature of 150-500°C for a prescribed time. The high temperature dried sample is heated to 500-800°C at 180 °C/hr to 600°C/hr temperature rising rate and calcined for 1-5 hr. The calcined sample is formed into a formed body having a prescribed shape. The formed body is heated to 800-1,500°C at 180-600 °C/hr temperature rising rate and sintered for 1-5 hr.
