摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a discharge capacity and lower the operating voltage while miniaturizing and lightening the weight of a primary battery. <P>SOLUTION: This primary battery is provided with aqueous electrolyte disposed with a cathode active material 4 using oxy nickel hydroxide as a major component and an anode active material 5 composed of light metal between a positive electrode terminal 2 and a negative electrode terminal 3 by divided by a separator 6. The cathode active material is formed of &beta; type oxy nickel hydroxide formed by solving a prescribed amount of an element selected from lanthanoids.
