<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the worsening of fuel economy caused by regenerating a SOx storage agent during travel of a vehicle and the incomplete regeneration of a SOx storage catalyst. <P>SOLUTION: The amount of SOx stored in the SOx storage catalyst replaceably arranged on the vehicle 50, when reaching a preset amount or greater, is reported to a collection station 70.
