PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical disk device capable of preventing operation errors of a servo by preventing the operation errors of a dropout detection device even if a WDO occurs. SOLUTION: The device includes a high-speed peak detector circuit for detecting the bright side of a reproduced signal which reproduces the information recorded on the optical disk, a low-speed peak detector circuit for detecting the bright side of the reproduced signal at a time constant different from that of the high-speed peak detector circuit, and a comparator which compares the high-speed peak detector signal detected by the low-speed peak detector circuit with the low-speed peak detector signal detected by the low-speed peak detector circuit, decides that there is a dropout when the potential of the low-speed peak detector signal is larger than that of the high-speed peak detector signal, and outputs a dropout detecting signal. A limiter circuit is arranged at the rear part of the low-speed peak detector circuit and the low-speed peak detector signal is clipped at a specified potential. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
