PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that necessary drop jetting speed and jetting volume cannot be obtained due to a large variation of jetting characteristics at a high-density head. SOLUTION: In the head, a piezoelectric body 15 is stacked on a diaphragm 2 which forms a partial wall of a jetting chamber 6 that communicates with a nozzle 4. Liquid drops are jetted from the nozzle 4 by bending and displacing the diaphragm 2. A width of the diaphragm 2 is 80μm or smaller, and the diaphragm 2 has a hinge structure as a structural part 12 where the rigidity is partly reduced. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
