The seat has lower and upper consoles (1,2) connected respectively to the baseplate of the seat assembly (4) and the shell (3) supporting the seat cushion. The lower and upper consoles are connected together by parallel links (5) with bolts (7) acting as pivots side-by-side. The links extend forward and upward from the lower to the upper console. A spring and damper assembly (10) is pivoted at the bottom on the lower console and at the top end to the upper of the two parallel links. The adjustment has a handwheel (13), a shaft (12) and a support console (15).
