PURPOSE: To provide a low-cost combined operation type input device which is of long life and is easily miniaturized. CONSTITUTION: An operator body 1 supported for rotation and rising/falling is spline-connected to a code disc 4 which is held between a central tube 13a and a return spring 5. The rotational action of the operator body 1 is detected by photointerruptors 8 and 9 through the code disc 4, while raising/falling the operator body 1 is detected by a photointerruptor 10 through a cylinder 3c.
