The present invention relates to a multi-functional material emitting far-infrared ray in an aqueous phase which comprises extracts from the shells of shellfishes of and minerals, and to a deodorant containing the same. The material according to the present invention is prepared by treating the shells of shellfishes and minerals with an alkaline solution, treating the resulting solution with various inorganic materials, and then passing the solution obtained through magnetic materials. This far-infrared ray emitting material in an aqueous phase can be used in various industrial purposes since it is eco-philic, odorless, colourless and non-toxic and reveals multi-functionality. The deodorant prepared therefrom shows excellent deodorizing capability against the basic and acidic offensive smelling agents.
