<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable an entry processing even if magnetic information is unreadable from a passbook, and to automatically restore the magnetic information of the unreadable passbook. <P>SOLUTION: An ATM 10 comprises a touch panel display part 12, a card reader part 32, a passbook printing part 34, a bar code reading part 36, an optical passbook reading part 38, a magnetic stripe reading part 40, and a magnetic stripe writing part 42. When the magnetic stripe reading part 40 cannot read information from the magnetic stripe of the passbook, a customer is urged to insert an automatic teller card, and the card reading part 32 reads account information from the inserted the automatic teller card. The unbooked information of an account specified by the read account information is acquired from a host computer 24, and the booking is performed by the passbook printing part 34 based on the unbooked information.
