<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method where the correct distribution of an additive is checked on the upstream side of a wrapping station to inspect the wrapping material. <P>SOLUTION: The wrapping material 2 utilized by a packaging machine 1 is advanced along a set supplying track 3, the additive (typically an adhesive) 12 is allowed to pass through a station which applies the additive to a selected area on a surface 9 in a form of a spot 13. The wrapping material 2 is electrostatically charged in a first station. Then, the wrapping material is detected to clarify the distribution of an electrostatic charge. The electrostatic charge is made strong on the spot 13 and in the vicinity thereof, and a wrapping material less than a standard one can be detected until the wrapping material reaches the wrapping station of the packaging machine by measuring changes in strength to the remaining surface where the poor application of the adhesive can be checked. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
