<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a dither pattern appearing to an observer who is observing a moving object in an image. <P>SOLUTION: A dither method is used for improving the image quality of a plasma display panel and for reducing the difference with respect to a conventional cathode ray tube (CRT). However, a dithering pattern appears on the retina for some of motions which have a space/time term similar to that of the dither method. Thus, the quality of a motion picture becomes the same as that of a still image for the observer by using a moving vector generated from a motion estimation device (14) for suppressing the possibility of visual perception of the dither method in the case of motion. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
