PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data reproducing device which easily selects and reproduces content data supposed to be suitably selected. SOLUTION: A control part 104 generates reproduction history data in which content data reproduced by a recording/reproduction part 101 in the past and reproduction date and time information on the date and time of the reproduction of the content data are related to each other. The control part 104 retrieves and extracts content data supposed to be suitably reproduced at present by using the birthday of a user stored in a birthday storage part 108, current date and time information generated by a date and time information generation part 107, and the reproduction history data.
