PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honing tool that can perform honing precisely and efficiently and provide a method of honing using the tool. SOLUTION: This honing tool 1 used for honing with a small diameter hole has a grinding main portion where abrasive grain 11 is distributed in a manner that each grain 11 is spaced away at an interval of at least one grain diameter and more and a root portion fixed to the tool base material (base metal) using a metallic bond material. Also, grinding scraps are removed and the grinding precision is improved by adding oscillation movement as well as rotating using the honing tool, with an synergistic effect of a distribution state of the grind 11 of the tool 1 and oscillation movement.
