PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle motor capable of preventing an adverse effect of leaking flux to a magnetic disk and restraining the lowering of a rotative driving force. SOLUTION: This spindle motor comprises a housing; a hub rotatably supported on the housing by a bearing means; a rotor magnet 40 fitted to the hub; and a stator 42 fitted on the housing so as to face the rotor magnet 40. A magnetic disc for recording magnetic information is fitted to the hub, and a magnetic shield 48 is intervened between the magnetic disk and the stator 42. The magnetic shield 48 is formed with notches 56 corresponding to a plurality of teeth 50 on the stator core 44 of the stator 42. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
