PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator-freezer capable of safely adding negative particles to inside air without generating of ozone. SOLUTION: This refrigerator-freezer comprises a ventilating means 5 for circulating inside air and a negative ion particle generator 6 through which inside air from the ventilating means 5 passes. The minus-particle generator 6 has a photo-electron generating material 11 and a light source for radiating ultraviolet onto the photo-electron generating material. By radiating ultraviolet onto the photo-electron generating material 11, photo-electrons are generated due to photoelectric effect, and molecules and small particles in the inside air become negative particles by capturing photo-electrons and re-released inside the chamber.
