The invention relates to a modular housing system for integrating devices from different domains such as computer technology and entertainment electronics. Said system can integrate devices for mains voltage and extra-low voltage. The voltage used is determined by the configuration of the terminals in the slot-in device. The system distinguishes between power supply and signal guidance, wherein it is possible to create a bus system, which can be exchanged at any time, for both functions. The slot-in devices carry all the information needed for operation in a non-volatile memory which also contains an image of the operating functions. All devices can be controlled by means of a common touch screen remote control. The housing system has three functional units: the basic housing for optically adapting and receiving the frame module, one or more frame modules for locating the devices and heat dissipation, in addition to interface modules for functional adaptation. The interface modules make it possible to set up a bus system for power supply or for signal guidance. In order to ensure extensive downward compatibility with conventional computer components, corresponding adapters and interface elements are defined. |
