The method for defining the position of a receiver uses a LORAN-C signal which is received (100), demodulated (200) and evaluated (300). During the receiving stage, a time and value continuous LORAN-C signal is received and during the demodulation stage the signal is mixed (210) with a time and value continuous mixing signal (x-t). An attached intermediate frequency signal (z-f) is received which is digitally demodulated.
