PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television (TV) monitoring system capable of setting and changing an accurate and detailed dangerous area, calculating the size (the number of sensor points) and speed of an object coming into contact with the sensor points, setting the degree of danger at each sensor point, and gradually outputting alarms. SOLUTION: The TV monitoring system comprises a TV camera 1, a monitoring TV 7, an alarm transmitter 8, and a control device 5 for controlling these units. Images of the TV camera 1 are received on the screen of the monitoring TV 7, a plurality of sensor points are arranged on the whole screen of the TV 7 and sensor points to be monitoring areas are set on the screen. When a moving image coming into contact with a certain sensor point is detected, an alarm is generated from the alarm transmitter 8. The control device 5 is provided with a pointing device (mouse 6) for setting a sensor point to be a monitoring area by using a pointer 7a displayed on the screen. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
