PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer material having dual stimuli-responsiveness to changes of human body temperature and pH in the body and a process for its production. SOLUTION: A process for production of a random or block copolymer with a modified molecular weight and having dual stimuli-responsiveness to heat and pH by copolymerization of (a) a process providing a styrene or acrylic acid derivative monomer having sulfonamide group, (b) a process providing (poly)isopropyl acrylamide and/or (poly)methylene bisacrylamide in (c) a polar or non-polar solvent in the presence of a characteristic catalyst and a haloalkyl group containing initiator.
