PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roll forming material that has a section form where a shearing edge of a roll forming material having a hollow portion is maintained and that has a predetermined length that minimizes loss of the material. SOLUTION: The method of shearing a roll forming material 9 having a hollow portion 10 where a partition wall 11 and a circumferential wall 12 are formed partially on its section, shears the roll forming material 9 by pressurizing the material 9 from the above orthogonally to the longitudinal direction of the material 9 with a crossing portion C between the wall 11 and the wall 12 on the upper side of the hollow portion 12, as a start point of pressurizing in a condition where the wall 11 is held vertically.
